Rodger Cletus Sear Jr., 75, of Garber, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, at his home near Garber.

Visitation was Sunday, Sept. 10, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg and before services at the church.

Funeral services were Monday, Sept. 11, at St John’s Congregational Church in Garber.

Rodger was the son of Rodger and Betty Sear Sr., born Oct. 23, 1941, in Dubuque.

Rodger received his education locally, and served his country in the United States Army. He owned and operated the Sear Auto Salvage and Sears 66 Service for many years. On Nov. 26, 1976, he was united in marriage with Carla Hansel in Dubuque. Rodger enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and spending time with grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife; Carla; one daughter, Tanya (David) Drips; three sons, Warren (Angie) Sear, Rodger (Kaitlin) Sear III, and William (Casey Miller) Sear; twelve grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters, Mary Lue (Edward) Huseman and Susan (Thom) Keifer; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rodger and Mary (step-mom) Sear Sr.; Betty Foley; and one daughter, Sarah Sear.
